Who we are
This site is the landing page for Gifer — the @gifer Telegram bot that searches GIFs inline, right in the message field of any chat.
Analytics & cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic — pages viewed, approximate region, device and browser type. Analytics loads only after you tap “Accept” in the cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics script runs and no analytics cookie is set — the site works exactly the same.
Your accept/decline choice is stored locally in your browser (localStorage), so we don't ask again on every visit. It is strictly necessary and is not used for tracking.
What we don't do
On this website we do not collect your name, email or payment details, and we do not sell or share your data.
What the bot stores
The bot itself runs inside Telegram, not on this website. Here's what @gifer keeps about you, plainly:
- Your Telegram user ID, first and last name, username and language — kept as part of our record of who has used the bot; your ID is also used to answer you and to enforce a fair-use limit per user. Kept until you ask us to delete it.
- The words you search for — kept in aggregate (how often a word is searched; this isn't linked to your account) for up to 2 years since that word was last searched, then dropped automatically.
- Search results are cached separately, for up to a day, so a repeated search loads faster.
- Which GIFs you've picked, so an empty query can show your own first.
Search text together with your Telegram user ID also appears in our server-side diagnostic logs and is kept there for 30 days.
Your search text — and a one-way hashed identifier, not your raw Telegram ID — goes to a third-party content service that supplies the actual GIFs; it never gets your name or username.
Inline mode doesn't require adding the bot to a chat: when you type its username in the message field, it only sees that one query, not the rest of the conversation.
Your choices
- Decline analytics right in the cookie banner.
- Use Manage cookies (also in the footer of every page) any time to change or withdraw your consent — it clears your choice and reopens the banner.
- Clear cookies / site data in your browser settings.
- Message @gifer and ask us to delete your bot data — we remove it on request.
